CORN MEAL

Enjoy the corn experience. Help our workers as they shell corn, clean corn and grind it into corn meal. Then sift the meal and get it ready to cook. Taste your corn bread as soon as it cools with a generous helping of the butter you make while the bread is cooking. Also homemade jellies will be available for you to taste on the bread.

CANDLE MAKING

Smell the sweet honey aroma as the beeswax melts for the candles. Experience the thrill of watching your candles grow as you dip them in the warm beeswax. Learn the history of beeswax wax candles, where it comes from and why the bees today are so important.

SYRUP MAKING

Good old fashion cane syrup. Experience everything from bringing the cane in out of the field, to putting the syrup in jars. Help us put the cane in the mill where it will be squeezed and the juice removed. Next the juice will be taken to the kettle for cooking. A fire is started under the kettle and the skimming and waiting begins. It will take about four hours to cook the juice until it is reduced enough to be syrup. It is a good idea to ask for another module to go with this one such as Jelly making to fill some of your wait time. You may also consider a catered lunch on the grounds that we can arrange for you.
